Introducing...Denise Lowe
Denise Lowe is an educator, motivational speaker, author of “The Fighter Within: Beating Life’s Challenges One Day at a Time” and founder and creator of the Learning Success™ program. While working as a Student Success Coach, Denise worked with students of all learning styles, helping them develop executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and effective communication, as well as positive study habits and note-taking skills. Through Denise’s LEARNING SUCCESS™ program, students learn the tools to help them develop a positive mindset and gain confidence to develop skills in all areas of their life.
Denise is a retired high school teacher, with Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology/Physical Education Degree, minoring in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education Degree both from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, ON. In her 25+ years of teaching with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, Denise worked mainly with teens and in her latter years worked with at-risk youth through an Alternative Education program. Denise is passionate about social justice and equity and believes all students should have an opportunity to a good education. With a biracial family, Denise is an advocate for BIPOC youth.
Another passion Denise has is helping youth with their mental wellness and positive mindset. Over the past several years, Denise has partnered with a registered psychotherapist and together created the “Mind Boost” program on holistic wellness. For over 7 years, Denise has studied brain function and the mind and their link to behaviours, habits and motivation.
In her leisure, Denise enjoys playing and watching sports; basketball, football and especially hockey. (Go Raptors, Argos, Leafs, and the PWHL!!) She has coached both high school and regional girls’ basketball teams and girls high school hockey team. Denise is a very proud Canadian; a big fan of the Canadian Women’s hockey team and a proud supporter of our Canadian Olympic athletes. She resides in Paris, Ontario with her husband Derryck and is a proud mom to Julia and Lysa.
